Google Meet actually will not be free forever. Previously, Google had announced that the free program would end in April 2020 but was finally extended to June 30, 2021 yesterday. And now, Google has officially announced that their Google Meet video conferencing service has a new policy that will affect free users. Because now free Google users are only given the opportunity to use Google Meet services for 60 minutes in one day. The 60-minute duration can be used to hold meetings with three to 100 people. When the meeting has reached 55 minutes, the system will display a notification that the user has to upgrade to extend the meeting. Indeed, Google has just presented the Workspace service which is one of the access for Google users to a number of Google’s premium features, one of which is Google Meet. The subscription fee from Google Workspace for Individuals alone is known to be around 9.99 USD per month (₦4100 in Nigeria). So do you still want to use Google Meet or switch to another service?
