To overcome these shortcomings, Huami, a wearable manufacturer known as Amazfit developed a sophisticated N95 mask. This mask can clean itself and is transparent to support facial recognition on mobile. Cited from Cnet, this mask has an air filter that can be replaced and has a transmitter built-in ultraviolet light that serves as a disinfectant. To clean the mask after each use, simply connect the mask to the available USB-C cable for several minutes to activate ultraviolet light. With this cleaning process, the air filter used can be effective for 1.5 months, according to a spokesman for Huami. This duration is far longer than the eight-hour resistance of the N95 mask. The mask, named Aeri, also has transparent anti-fog material so that it can support facial recognition technology on mobile phones, such as Face ID. This mask also has a modular design that can add additional accessories such as face shields and fans. Currently, Huami is still developing a prototype Aeri mask. They said it would take six months to a year to launch this product to the market. Although currently still in the development stage, a spokesman for Huami said the mask will be released at an affordable price, the same as other Amazfit product lines.
